How to back up a Google Workspace user account
Handle data migration before reassigning the licence to a new user.
To backup a Google Workspace user who has left the company, please follow this procedure, which we explain in detail in this video.
Log in to the Google Workspace Admin Console > Account menu > Data migration > Google Workspace migration and follow the steps to migrate email.
Once completed, select the user you are interested in.
Before deleting the user, check for any aliases or links with third-party applications.
Transfer this data to other users if necessary to maintain access. Verify this with your DPO (Data Protection Officer).
Then go to Menu > Users and delete the user in question, transferring their Calendar and Drive data.
Use the freed Google Workspace licence to create a new account for another employee.
